With over a century of coffee tradition from the Gómez Chávez family and the Alvarado lineage, Brumas del Zurquí represents four generations committed to excellence, sustainability, and innovation in Costa Rican coffee.</p><p> </p><h2>Kenia Variety</h2><p>This micro-lot features the <strong>Kenia variety</strong>, a cultivar named for its genetic lineage traced back to selections developed in Kenya. Known for its lively acidity, aromatic complexity, and fruit-forward character, Kenia thrives in the Central Valley’s volcanic soils. In this natural process lot, the variety expresses itself with vibrant fruit tones, layered sweetness, and a unique complexity that distinguishes it as one of El Centro’s standout offerings.</p><p> </p><h2>Washed Processing</h2><p>In the <strong>washed process</strong>, ripe cherries are depulped, fermented, and carefully washed to remove the mucilage before being sun-dried. At El Centro, this method produces a cup that highlights the crisp acidity, floral tones, and sparkling fruit character of the Kenia variety.
