Description
Cerrado Mineiro, in the state of Minas Gerais, was Brazil’s first coffee region to earn a Denomination of Origin. Coffee there grows on high, flat plateaus with hot days, dry winters and red “terra roxa” soil. Brazilian coffees like this one are known for a nutty, chocolatey, round cup, which makes them a favorite base for blends and espresso. Grown in Cerrado Mineiro, Minas Gerais, Brazil Altitude 800–1,300 m (region) Typical varieties Mundo Novo, Catuai, Bourbon Typical process Natural or pulped natural Harvest May–September Bean size Screen 14/16 Green coffee is sorted by bean size using screens measured in 64ths of an inch. Screen 14/16 means beans between roughly 14/64 and 16/64 of an inch, a smaller size than the 17/18 grades. Smaller beans don’t mean lower flavor; it’s a sorting grade, which helps keep the price down. Bag sizes: 1 lb, 5 lb and 15 lb. Store sealed in a cool, dry, dark place. FAQ What does 14/16 mean?
